Except the Tecno W2 & Huawei Y3II , there are very few android phones i can personally use and recommend to someone looking for an “OK” android phones less than #20,000 in Nigeria.
The bitter truth is that phones are becoming more expensive and “cheap” in 2018 is not the same as “cheap” a few years back.
How Did I Pick ? :
- I researched your interest in a smartphone and narrowed it down to 3 main things ; camera , performance & battery.
- I looked for cheap android phones in nigeria with a good balance of specs and price , and can be easily purchased here in Nigeria
- I gave phones with after sale support in Nigeria more priority than others without after support.
- Phones that were launched this year got higher priority than older ones because newer phones tend to have better features.
#1) Overall Top Choice : TECNO SPARK 2
My #1 choice goes to the new Spark 2 smartphone from TECNO because it has really good specs and you can get it for just 36k.
All round , the Spark 2 is a solid smartphone with beautiful design , high camera pixels and a 3500mAh battery that should last you a full day. However , one thing i didn’t like is the 1GB ram which , to be honest , is too small for any smartphone in 2018
That said , I highly recommend this phone to everyone looking for a budget device they can rely on.

If you’re still into 5″ 1gb ram phone. I will suggest u go for infinix hot 2….But I will recommend u get a phone at least with 2gb ram… Am currently using techno c8 with 13mp back camera and 5mp front camera but d downside of the phone is it 1gb ram…. Any phone for now without 2gb and above of ram is a no go for me….. @sam
