HMD knows that to bring back the Nokia brand to life, they would have to revisit some of the names the public was familiar with. In that line, we can now confirm that the market would be getting a Nokia 8 Sirocco, and soon too.
The phone which has been leaked as Model TA-1005 up until now has been registered as the Nokia 8 Sirocco. In fact, earlier in January, a logo with that inscription had already been found on the internet.
For those of you who do not know where this name came from, it gives a nod to the Nokia 8800 Sirocco. The name itself pays homage to the wind that comes from the Sahara Desert.
The old model would surely not be appealing to the advanced market, so HMD has made a few changes. Some of those we can report on good authority are the addition of an OLED display (made by LG), dual camera capacity and also, additional storage capacity.
HMD has already promised the fans a lot of new things at the upcoming MWC. The Sirocco should be one of them, but it surely won’t steal the show. At best, this is just an upgrade phone that would fall into the mid-range market. What we want is the flagship that would break grounds for this year.
