The recently announced Innjoo Max 4 Pro is the latest (2017) iteration of the Max series and successor to last year’s Innjoo Max 3 which failed to live up to the hype. The Max 4 pro is an all-round upgrade on the Max 3. The design has been improved with the addition of a physical home button which also acts as the fingerprint scanner. The RAM has been bumped to 3GB / 4GB RAM & the battery capacity increased to 4400mAh.

Design & Display :
The Innjoo Max 4 pro follows the same design pattern we noticed on the Innjoo 4 and recent innjoo devices. It is a unibody smartphone with full metallic design and a physical home button which also serves as the fingerprint scanner. Being unibody means there’s no back cover , thus the battery is permanently fixed and cannot be removed. The Sim & External Card slot is on the left side of the body and can be accessed by the use of an eject pin. On the right side lies the control buttons (volume & power) , while the charging port is at the bottom along side the phone’s speakers.
The Max 4 pro is a big device. Its 6.0 inch display sits between a smartphone and a tablet which is known as a “Phablet” (hint : any device > 5.5 inches and < 7 inches display is known as a phablet).
Hardware & Software :
In the hardware section , the Max 4 pro relies on a MediaTek MT6750 chipset to process information. The processor has a speed of 1.5GHz. Certainly not the fastest processor , but good enough for a phone at this price. For multitasking , the Innjoo Max 4 pro is available in two RAM configurations ; 3GB and 4GB.
The 3GB RAM ships with 32GB internal storage while the 4GB RAM comes with 64GB internal storage , so it is important to know the exact configuration you’re buying. The good news is that both versions support external SD Card of up to 128GB , so you have more space to expand if need be.
The Max 4 Pro runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box which is actually a bonus considering how difficult it is to get budget phones that run Android 7.0 operating system here in Nigeria.
Network & Connectivity :
The Innjoo Max 4 Pro has the necessary sensors and connectivity. Bluetooth , GPS , WiFi , Light sensor , Gravity sensor , Accelerometer are all available. It however doesn’t support NFC & HDMI , although they aren’t frequently used here in Nigeria.
This device supports 4G network with band FDD 1800.
All ye picture lovers , the Max 4 Pro has an 8MP front camera and 16MP rear camera. It Certainly doesn’t match the Camon Cx neither does it mess with S2 Pro “Wefie” , at least on paper. But hey , 8 MP is quite OK. The presence of a front LED flash also helps in situations where you need to take a selfie in a dark environment.
The Max 4 pro has a 4400mAh battery. By my estimations , a 4400mAh battery should take you at least 18 hours of constant usage (internet , gaming , e.t.c) although how long a battery lasts is determined by what you do with your device. There’s also the wear and tear factor. The more frequent you charge your device , the more likely the battery life would deteriorate.
The battery charges faster with a charger of voltage 100V-240V Input and 9V, DC, 2A Output.
