Samsung is doing a lot of work in promoting its new Experience 9 software suite right now. If that means anything, it is that the Android 8 Oreo update for both of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ units are not far behind. What the South Korean OEM might not have told everyone initially though was that the updates would not hit all markets at the same time.
One of the users of either phone, who stays in the North African region, got in touch with the Android smartphone giant about when his market would receive the updates too. According to the reply the user got, the update could take as long as the end of February to roll out to some other markets.
The thing is that Samsung is yet to release an update calendar, so no market knows whether they would be part of the early birds or late ones, but it is sure that the update might not be done with before the end of March – which signals the first quarter in the year.
As soon as we have more information on how the updates would be prioritised, we will update this page.
