1). MTN BetaTalk – My Favourite Of All

MTN Beta talk is my favourite mtn tariff plan of all time and i have been on this package for over 3years now.

The screenshot i posted above was possible thanks to MTN Beta talk which gives 250% bonus on every recharge of N100 and above made on your line, and 150% bonus on every recharge below N100.

Now the reason why i love this plan is because there is no restriction to the bonus airtime. The bonus airtime can be used to call and send SMS to ANY network In Nigeria , and also , your main credit will not be deducted until the bonus airtime is exhaused.

MTN BetaTalk call rates

All calls made within the country to either other MTN lines or other networks will be charged at N42k/s from the main account, and N45k/s from the bonus account.

International calls and SMS rates are not affected by BetaTalk. Note that the bonus you get from this tariff can be used for calls, SMS and data, and the bonus account will be debited for these operations first before the main account.

Terms and Conditions:

Once you migrate away from BetaTalk, all credit in your bonus account will be reversed, regardless of whether it’s active or not. Also, subscribers can’t use the Share and Sell service on the BetaTalk plan. You’ll have to migrate to another plan to send airtime to family and friends.

Who should subscribe to this plan? :

I would recommend Mtn beta talk to those who make frequent calls and are ONLY concerned about saving money on their calls. If you are looking to save money on both calls and data , i’ld suggest you have a look at MTN Pulse which is discussed in the next section of this article.

The Benefits of Beta Talk :

The benefits of this tariff is very obvious , but i’ld list it again anyways ;

  • 250% bonus on recharge of above #100 and 150% bonus on airtime below #100
  • Airtime can be used to call all networks
  • Main airtime will not be deducted until bonus airtime is exhausted.

The Disadvantage :

While the advantages of Beta Talk is glowing , the only disadvantage i see is that the call rate is quite high , X3 times higher than the call rate on MTN Pulse.

On beta talk , you’ld be charged 42k/s from the main account, and 45k/s from the bonus account.

So how do you get the bonus?

Subscribe to MTN Beta Talk then recharge your line using *555*PIN# or via MTN VTU, and dial *556# to check your account balance. This will be displayed in two forms, the first being your main account and the second your bonus account. So if you recharge N100 while on BetaTalk, your main account will contain N100 and your bonus account N250.

To migrate to MTN BetaTalk (MTN Beta talk code ) :

Dial *123*2*1# or text BT to 131.

2). MTN Pulse

If you’re looking to save on calls and data then MTN Pulse is the tariff plan for you.

This tariff plan is the most popular amongst youths as it offers affordable data plans and special access to services such as MTN Music+. In fact, MTN Pulse is the most promoted tariff plan by MTN.

MTN Pulse call rates

With MTN Pulse, you get to make calls to all networks in Nigeria for just N11k/s. However, there’s a catch ; you have to use at least N11 airtime in a day to enjoy this.

Every day, your first calls (to all networks) will be charged at N22k/s until your accumulated airtime usage reaches N11. After that, you can make calls to all networks for N11k/s till the end of the day. The cycle restarts the next day at 12:00AM.

MTN Happy Hour bundle / Night Browsing

By sending NIGHT as an SMS to 131, you can enjoy 500MB of data for browsing between the hours of 12AM and 4AM every day on MTN Pulse.

MTN Music+

You can enjoy unlimited music streaming on MTN Music+ for just N10 per day by sending M to 5900. Music+ also has weekly and monthly bundles to keep you jamming up for longer.

500MB Weekly bundle

MTN subscribers can enjoy extra data on MTN Pulse, courtesy of Dealzone. By sending 2 to 131 or dialling *406*2#, Pulse users will get 1GB instead of 500MB for N500, valid for 7 days. This plan can be renewed at any time and data rollover is supported.

How To Migrate To MTN Pulse (MTN Pulse Code) :

Dial *406*1# or send 406 to 131.

Terms and Conditions

Stacking of bundles is allowed, i.e. you can subscribe to a XtraValue bundle even if you have an existing active bundle. Also, migrating to another tariff plan while a XtraValue bundle is active will de-activate the bundle, even though the data and airtime given will still be in the account.

4). MTN StartPack

As the name suggests, MTN StartPack is a tariff plan for new subscribers on the MTN network. It offers  500% bonus on every recharge of N100 and above, 10MB data bonus (valid for 2 days) on recharges of N200 and above and other periodical offers for a time-frame of 6 months after the new SIM is registered.

To migrate to MTN StartPack:

There are no special USSD or SMS codes here. Just buy a new SIM, register it and you’ll be automatically placed on the StartPack plan.
