LG K4 (2017) is the second of four smartphones launched by LG Mobile in the new LG K series of mid-range smartphones at the CES 2017 event in February. It succeeds the LG K4 which was launched a year before, however, some of its specs remain the same as its predecessor.
The LG K4 (2017) improves on the K3 (2017) in some aspects, but it bears semblance to the lowest member of the series in terms of design and features.

Design & Display
The LG K4 (2017) comes with a 5-inch In-cell Touch IPS display which has a 854 * 480 pixel resolution. In terms of design, the smartphone is a bigger replica of the LG K3, with large bezels, on-screen navigation buttons and LG branding on the front and rear.
The K4 weighs slightly more than the K3 (135 grammes), and is just 7.9 millimetres thick, significantly slimmer than the K3. The smartphone has curved edges for easy grip and features a fingerprint sensor on the rear below the camera module and LED flash, offering advanced security functions beyond the regular PIN and Password security protection offered by Android.
This smartphone also has two horizontal speaker grills on the left bottom side of the back panel. The selfie camera and accompanying LED flash are placed to the left of the proximity sensor at the top of the smartphone.
Memory & Performance
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor powers the smartphone’s operations, and while a clock speed of 1.1GHz wouldn’t be sufficient to run many heavy and resource-hungry applications of today without lags and freezes, an Adreno 304 GPU is present on the SoC to take some of the pressure of the CPU.
The LG K4 comes with 1GB of RAM for multitasking and 8GB of internal storage to store all your multimedia files and apps. This may not be sufficient for all users which is why LG included a microSD card slot that can take external microSD cards with a size of up to 32GB.
Camera
A 5MP camera is present at the rear of the K4 to handle the main photography functions on the smartphone, and a LED flash is placed beneath it to provide lighting in dark situations.
The front camera has the same number of megapixels as the rear camera, and is also accompanied by a LED flash.
Battery, Connectivity & Software
The LG K4 (2017) obtains its running juice from a 2500mAh battery which should last up to 12hours on fair usage. The battery is removable.
The smartphone has wireless connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1, and offers fast terrestrial connectivity with support for 4G LTE networks.
Like the LG K3, the K4 (2017) runs on version 6.0 (Marshmallow) of the Android operating system out of the box.
